Oshawa Double B's at Canadians

 
The Oshawa Double B Sports Club Midgets have finished 5th in the Northumberland Dairy 2005
Boys Canadian Fast Pitch Championships in Miramichi, New Brunswick. 
They lost to the Maymont Raiders ( Sask. 2 ), who they had beaten in pool play 5 - 3 , by a
score of 6 - 3 in the 4 pm playoff game yesterday. 
In the 12 pm game the Double B's had beaten Quebec 4 - 3. They were led by 2b Richard Colin - Thome 1/2, RBI
and p Alex McNabb IP 5.3, R 3, ER 1, K 2, BB 6. 
Congratulations to Head Coach, Steve Mitts and his coaching staff and team for 10 well played games
and representing Ontario and the Oshawa City and District Fastball League in this Championship. 
Ontario # 2, the Napanee Express are moved up from silver to gold to win this years event. 

The Oshawa Double B Sports Club Junior team claimed 4th spot last night in the 2005 Junior Men's Canadian Fast Pitch
Championships in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan as they lost in the 8 pm game 7 - 1 to BC. 
Previously in the day at 10 am Oshawa ( #5 ) beat Alberta ( #8 ) 6 - 0 behind the 1 hit performance
by Ryan Cummings as he struck out 9 and allowed 3 walks. Matthew White, Pat Severin and Brandon Horn
had 2 hits apiece for the winners. 
In the 2 pm game, with only 1 life available to them, they beat Quebec 8 - 4 and got some revenge
after Quebec beat them in the tie breaker game on Friday. Carl Maloney 3b was 3/3 , Matthew Dasilva 2b
and Pat Severin c collected 2 hits apiece in Oshawa's win. 
In their last game of the Championships, Oshawa were led by Matthew Dasilva's 3/3 in a losing effort. 
Congratulations go out to Coaches Todd Idenouye, John Mather and Robert Simms and their Oshawa Double B
Sports Club team as they played 12 games during the Championships and represented Ontario and the 
Oshawa City and District Fastball League very proudly.
