City District Opening Night

The Oshawa Bombers started their first Oshawa City and District Fastball League week with explosive
and devastating results as they humbled the Oshawa Midgets twice in a home and home series 9 - 3 and 12 - 5.

Pitchers Ryan and Jason Swift monitored the Midgets lineup and checked them with key strikeouts but it did not
matter too much as the Bomber's bats were very hot. Leading the 24 hit, 21 run Bomber's assault was ss Jason Christie
with three solo bombs, 3/6, 3 r, bb. The bomber's next weapons employed were cf Jay Best 6/7, 5 r, bb,
p/1b Ryan Swift 4/7, 3r, 3 doubles, bb, and 7 rbi and 1b/p Jason Swift 1b/p 5/7, 6 r, 3 rbi.
Also having a great series was c Matt Swift 3/7, 5 rbi, bb.

Next week's mission is at home Tuesday night, Durham Fields, 8:30 when the Bombers host the Stouffville Mennos
and try to maintain their team .421 team average.

In other news the rebuilt Oshawa Ravens season opener in Aurora was a success as the Phil Yahn, Jamie Baker combo held Joe's to 1 run in 4-1 first game victory. Todd Martin tagged for the loss in this one not likely to happen very often.

The Lakers from Sharon served notice that they have their hitting shoes on early as they downed the Oshawa Rebels
by a thunderous 11-1 margin. G.G. gathered 5 rbis and pitched 3 very strong innings, in fact local watcher remarked 'hey
he is bringing it tonite'.

Not to be outdone the Athletics pounded 4 Mennos pitchers for 15 runs in 5 innings while giving up 1. The Scarborough young guns are
